Impact stamps are often used to make prints in metal, but also leather or other materials are possible. An impact stamp is provided with an image on one side, usually in mirror image. By placing the stamp with one hand on the object to be stamped and with the other hand, with a hammer, give a blow to the back of the stamp, the print is created.
