Seals and sealing tools

Sealing is an ancient technique that was already used over 3000 years ago to seal containers and documents. It was mainly used in the case of maritime shipments, to protect what was inside the goods and thus allow them to be easily identified. Today, this sealing technique is still used both professionally and non-professionally.

At Royal Posthumus you will find all the tools you need to seal your documents, shipments and parcels in an elegant and original way. We have sealing pliers, metal seals, plastic seals, wires and other useful accessories and eyelets.

Our tools

Sealing pliers

At Royal Posthumus, we have sealing pliers in various lengths:

● 150mm
● 165mm
● 170 mm
● and 260 mm

These are pliers made in Germany, of the highest quality. In addition, each sealing plier is also capable of marking the seals, thus becoming a stamping pliers.

For all our sealing pliers, it is possible to engrave the top and/or bottom side by sending a design of your choice.

Different seals

At Royal Posthumus we have both metal and plastic seals.

Seals were, as already mentioned, used in ancient times as a system to protect the integrity of goods and especially as an authentication system. Today, they are used both for security and warranty purposes, but also to decorate handcrafted objects.

Sealing wire and accessories

We offer different types of wire for this technique. You can choose between three types of wire: iron wire, galvanised wire and copper-plated plastic wire. In addition, in the section on eyelets and accessories you will find different types of eyelets and eyelet pliers.

Applications of the sealing pliers

This technique can be used on a variety of occasions.

For example, as a hobby, to close and decorate small packages, such as those for a birthday party. In this case, a metal seal will be original and will give the package a unique character. You can also personalise your package even more by engraving the seals themselves with one of our customisable sealing pliers.

The sealing technique is also suitable for professional use, as letters, documents and packages of all kinds can be sealed and stamped.

How to seal with seals?

Would you like to learn how to seal with metal or plastic seals? It is very simple.

First, you need to wrap the wire around the object or package of your choice. Then you will need to insert the seal inside the wire and press it down with suitable pliers. In this way, the ends of the package or object in question will be bound and sealed. If an engraved tool is used, the seals will be marked in the last step described.
