Bells have always been a symbol linked to the maritime world. Used as an alarm or signalling instrument in case of fog, for example, but also as an alarm clock and to define working hours, they are an object that can be found on all types of ships. This is precisely why they are considered an original gift for sailors or former sailors.
Royal Posthumus gathers high quality items produced by the famous Italian bell foundry Foresti & Suardi. These are bells of the highest quality, made entirely of polished brass and in various sizes.
Each brass boat bell is equipped with a handle and a clapper.
In addition to the classic sea bells, we also offer table bells.
Thanks to our many CNC machines, we can engrave your ship's bell in honour of a ship or a friend to whom you wish to give it. You can then engrave inscriptions or a personal logo. Normally, the engravings are done in black. If you would like to choose other colours, you must indicate this when you place your order.
At Royal Posthumus we also have bell ropes, handmade by an artisan in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. We have cotton bell ropes, PPM (synthetic) ropes and jute ropes, available in various lengths. If you want coloured ropes, you can choose up to three colours when you place your order.
As already mentioned, the boat bell is often used in the maritime field and therefore inside boats, yachts and ships. However, we also receive requests from bars, schools, restaurants and private individuals who use them for various reasons.
For example, they could be used at home to let people know that dinner is ready. In bars, Foresti & Suardi bells are more likely to be placed above the counter. They also become school bells when used in the playground or at school. Inside shops, they can also be used as shop bells.
