Desk Seals
Desk Seals
Everyone is familiar with them, for example on the luxury label of a good wine or beautiful brochures, in which a motif has been embossed, i.e. without ink, but with relief.
Good to feel, colourless, but still clearly visible due to the shadow effect, this elegant way of printing is, apart from with luxury items, also often used for security reasons. After all, an embossed print is non-copyable.
Embossing press: for paper of different weights
At RoyalPosthumus you will find a wide range of embossing presses - also known as table presses or desk presses. Which embossing press should you choose? The choice is determined by the weight of the paper and the place where you want to emboss on the paper. Our presses are suitable for paper weights ranging from 80 grams to 400 grams. The insertion range of our embossing presses varies from 5 to 11 cm.
Where on the paper do you want the embossing?
We mount your stamp plate firmly in your embossing press. Once mounted you will not be able to turn the plates easily. That is why it is important to determine in advance where you want your stamp to be on the paper and how you will want to put the paper in the press.
Embossing press from Taiwan
Our small and medium range embossing presses are made in T'ai-nan, the old capital of Formosa, today's Taiwan. T'ai-nan, the name says it all ('nan' means 'south') is located in the south of the island. The gifted toolmaker Shin-Hsien Shih started his business here on the pavement in front of his parental home. Since then he has been succeeded by his son Jessy. Their factory is a stone's throw away from Taiwan's oldest building, an old Dutch fort. They make very high quality embossing pliers and presses.
Classic Table Presses from Italy
The classic desk presses we offer are made of cast iron. We manufacture the stamp and counter stamp of these presses in the traditional way. The stamp is engraved with a milling cutter. We press the counter stamp into a mould after which we saw the mould to size. We then assemble the stamp and counter stamp in the embossing press. Thanks to this production method, the stamps are virtually indestructible.
