Types of impact stamps:
Professional impact stamps
Our range of professional letter and number stamps have been produced in France for over 100 years. The letters are generally in upper case but specific engravings can be requested. This type of product is made of drawn and tempered steel (Rockwell 60-62) and is nickel-plated to avoid corrosion problems.
Customised impact stamps
Customised impact stamps are also an option at Royal Posthumus. They are available in different types of steel depending on their hardness and durability. The most common models are square and measure 8x8mm, 13x13mm or 18x18mm. Of course, we also offer round and rectangular punches.
Impact stamps for individuals
Royal Posthumus also offers impact stamps for hobbyists. These are models with standard designs, such as numbers and letters, which can be used for various types of decoration. An impact stamp is ideal for engraving names and symbols on metal plates, leather and other materials.
Our models
Our tools are all made of highly hardened steel (60-62 HRC on the Rockwell hardness scale), which makes them of excellent quality and durability.
Our factory hardens each product to increase its hardness and prevent damage during use. This ensures perfect engravings every time and a longer lifespan for the tool.
How do I use an impact stamp?
Impact stamps are mainly used for engraving on metal - for example on jewellery or tools - but can also be used on leather, plastic or wood.
Using these stamps is simple. Our steel impact stamps have a flat side and a side with a pattern. Simply place the letter or number to be struck on the object to be marked and strike the flat side. Each stroke of the hammer will then correspond to an engraving.
